Victoria receives defenseman Bobby Davey in trade with Bakersfield.

West Valley City, UT – The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have acquired defenseman Bobby Davey from the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for future considerations.
The native of West Hill, Ontario joins the Salmon Kings after playing in seven games with the Condors this season where he registered no points and four penalty minutes. Davey began this year in Stockton where he dressed for seven games with the Thunder accumulating 17 minutes in penalties before being acquired by Bakersfield in a January 22nd trade.
The 6-1, 201 lb. blueliner split his 2008-09 rookie campaign between the ECHL’s Fresno Falcons and Reading Royals. Davey began the year with 14 games in Fresno registering zero points and 57 penalty minutes. Following a move to Reading he accumulated two points and 62 minutes in penalties in 19 games with the Royals.
The 22-year-old Davey had a four-year junior career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) between the Belleville Bulls, Sarnia Sting, and Peterborough Petes. In 240 career OHL contests he scored 23 points (4g-19a) while serving 682 penalty minutes. Davey also played in 15 OHL playoff games during his junior career accruing one assist and 18 penalty minutes.
The Salmon Kings continue their series against the Grizzlies and eight-game road trip tonight and tomorrow, Saturday, February 20th. Victoria returns home to host the National Conference leading Idaho Steelheads for a three-game set with matches on Wednesday, March 10th, Friday, March 12th, and Saturday, March 13th.
