Captain Wes Goldie to pass Ryan Wade as club’s all-time leader in games played tonight versus the Aces with 266th game!

Victoria, BC – The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, are proud to announce that in tonight’s game versus the Alaska Aces, captain Wes Goldie will become the club’s all-time leader in games played by competing in his 266th contest.
The native of London, Ontario will pass former Salmon King and current team assistant coach Ryan Wade, who played 265 games in Victoria over four seasons. Goldie has never missed a game during his tenure with the Salmon Kings. This makes him the holder of the team’s Ironman Record with 266 consecutive games.
Goldie is also the club’s all-time leader in goals (163), points (243), power play goals (52), short-handed goals (21), game-winning goals (25), and shots (1,059).
The winger also holds the Salmon Kings’ single-season record for goals (48), short-handed goals (7), short-handed points (9), and game-winning goals (8).
Goldie is the only person to have played in all 26 of the Salmon Kings’ post-season games and holds the team’s all-time playoff records for goals (14), assists (14), points (28), power play goals (4), and game-winning goals (4).
The 30-year-old is in his fourth season as a Salmon King and second as the team’s captain. Entering his 266th career game in Victoria Goldie has scored 163 goals and added 80 assists for 243 points.
The Salmon Kings host the Alaska Aces for a three-game set with matches tonight, Saturday, February 13th, and Sunday, February 14th. Puck drop for the first two matches is at 7:05 pm while Sunday’s game starts at 1:05 pm. After the game on February 14th, the Salmon Kings will present their final “Skate with the Salmon Kings” for 2009-10 season. Skates will be available from the City of Victoria by donation.
